From the various St. Jude Benefits events run by Pars and a Purpose for a Children’s Cure and with all your help, donations, gift in kind, our sponsor's funding, and other donors helping to pay for our costs, we have been able to give 100% of proceeds, over $150,000 has been raised to date to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital’s lifesaving mission dedicated to finding cures for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
-October 2021, we had our 1st event. The 1st annual St. Jude Classic Charity Golf Tournament. The event was hosted at Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club in Port Orange, FL. We had a fund-raising goal of $25,000 for the kids at St. Jude. The response from the local community, sponsors, donors, Crane Lakes, and its staff was overwhelming. The event brought in a staggering $40,000, shattering our goal.
-Over the next few months people were abuzz about the success of the golf tournament. On one particular day it turned out the Men’s Golf Association at Crane Lakes and the Daytona Travelers Golf league happened to both be playing Crane Lakes. After their respective rounds the two groups were all together having lunch at the course. As these things go….one group challenged the other to a friendly little league duel, as it were. And the Spring St. Jude Ryder Cup was born.
-Spring of 2022, the 1st annual Spring St. Jude Ryder Cup raised an impressive $14,000.
-Fall of 2022, the 2nd annual St. Jude Classic raised a whopping $60,000.
-Spring of 2023, we had the 2nd annual Ryder Cup with a new goal of $20,000, which we exceeded.
-Summer of 2023, we have added a Fund raiser at Daytona Beach Shores Eagle Club.
-October 2023 we will be in our 3rd year of hosting the St. Jude Classic. But we have now made this a 3-day event. Starting with a dinner/dance On Friday October 20th. The tournament on October 21st is so popular we have added a 2nd tournament on October 22nd. We expect both days to be sold out.
We have set a new goal of $200,000 for all the tournaments/fund raisers to date. With your support we would love to smash this goal. As is our mission, 100% of all proceeds will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help save kids’ lives. The funds raised will go towards the research and treatment programs at St. Jude that help thousands of children. The success of past events is a testament to the generosity and support of the local community.

*David Van is the event chair. He resides in Ponce Inlet, FL with his wife Suzanne. He plays in all the charity golf events with his St. Jude Golf Team and is well known throughout Volusia Country for his various volunteer efforts with local charities, including volunteering at his hometown Ponce Inlet Police Department. David supports and sponsors charities throughout the area and attends charity events regularly.
