Historical Museum The Halifax Historical Museum is located in Daytona Beach, Florida and operates in conjunction with The Halifax Historical Society. The Halifax Historical Society was founded in 1949. The mission of the Society is to gather and preserve the history of the Halifax River area and present it to the public in an interesting and educational manner. Since 1984 the Halifax Historical Museum has been housed in the former Merchant's Bank Building located in the heart of the downtown historical district of Daytona Beach. Visitors often comment that this museum and its impressive collections are one of the best-kept "secrets" in the North Central Florida area.
