University (DeLand)
Stetson University, Florida's first private university, has offered a
quality education with a focus on values since 1883. Stetson was
ranked for the 14th year among the South's top four regional
universities in U.S. News & World Report's 2001 America's Best
Colleges. Stetson University has 1,900 students enrolled on its 165
acre DeLand campus. Stetson has three major schools on the DeLand campus,
the School of Business, the College of Arts & Sciences, and the School
of Music. Stetson's campus in St.Petersburg, FL has the College of
Law graduate school. The university offers degrees in more
than 60 majors and minors. It also offers graduate and professional
programs that rank among the best in the nation.
Stetson's faculty includes 155 members, 96% of whom hold Ph.D. degrees or
its equivalent. The present student/faculty ratio is 11:1.
This low ratio ensures that the students receive more personal
attention.
Stetson has offers study-abroad opportunities in 7 foreign countries,
including: France, England, China, Spain, Mexico, Germany and Russia.
Stetson also offers a summer program in Innsbruck, Austria as well as a
semester in Washington, D.C.
