American Red Cross of Florida's Space Coast Welcomes New Volunteer Board of Directors

Welcome New Board Members

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – June 24, 2024 – Florida’s Space Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross, serving Flagler, Volusia and Brevard Counties, is pleased to announce a new volunteer Board of Directors.

LaTonya Daniel is Executive Director of the Chapter, a position she has held for two years after serving as a Community Volunteer Leader for two years prior. “We are so pleased to welcome this new Board of Directors, a group of volunteer leaders with diverse backgrounds and perspectives, unified by a desire to turn their compassion into action.”

Nine new board members met in June for their first Annual Meeting as a Board, and officers have now been elected at that meeting. Board members serve three-year terms, up to nine years. All members reside in one of the counties the Chapter serves.

· Jason Schemmel, General Manager, Paul Davis Restorations of Space Coast

· Cynthia Slater, President, NAACP Daytona Beach Branch, Retired, Rehabilitation Supervisor at Florida Division of Blind Services

Florida’s Space Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross is based in Daytona Beach with a second office in Viera. It is one of five chapters that comprise the Central Florida and U.S. Virgin Islands Region, serving 19 Florida counties and the Virgin Islands territories of St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Water Island.
