Conveniently located just minutes from the world-famous Daytona Beach, Daytona Beach International Airport offers a seamless and efficient travel experience. With a commitment to exceptional customer service, the airport features modern facilities, a range of passenger amenities, and a selection of domestic flights.
DAB serves as a vital transportation hub for both leisure and business travelers. We are proud of our longstanding partnerships with our legacy carriers Delta Air Lines and American Airlines, which have provided service for 45 years and 16 years, respectively. Each airline provides multiple daily flights to their hubs in Atlanta and Charlotte—with connections to anywhere.
Avelo Airlines began service in June of 2023 with twice weekly service to/from New Haven, CT. The airline has since added twice weekly service to Hartford, CT, Wilmington, DE and starting April 3, Concord, NC. Breeze Airways started service in November of 2024 with twice weekly flights to Westchester, NY. In February, the airline added flights to Providence, RI; Hartford, CT; and Raleigh/Durham, NC.
What sets DAB apart from other airports is that at DAB, you’re a VIP! That’s because all our travelers receive the highest customer service from all areas of the airport—from the airline ticket counters, to the securing screening checkpoint. DAB is a small airport, handling more than 700,000 passengers a year. Business & leisure travelers alike know that flying DAB saves them time, in many cases several hours. It all starts with getting here. They spend less time driving here than to a larger airport that’s more than an hour away. Less time looking for a parking spot and then getting from parking to the terminal. Less time waiting in long screening lines –at DAB, the average wait time is less than 5 minutes. All of that adds up to MORE time to relax or for the business traveler, work, before your flight. If you are coming here on vacation, that vacation begins when you land, as you are just minutes from the beach, speedway and many other attractions. If you’re arriving from a vacation or business trip, you don’t have to worry about a long commute to get home—because you are home.
DAB is an award-winning airport! The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) named DAB Commercial Service Airport of the Year for 2024 and 2021. Winning this award twice in three years speaks volumes to the professionalism of the DAB team and the respect of industry peers. The award is selective to airports that have proven exceptional aviation safety, completed aesthetic improvements, and shown innovative management solutions throughout the year. This recognition is a testament to the commitment of our team to provide the highest levels of safety and customer service for our passengers, community and airline partners.
Providing an exceptional customer experience is at the heart of everything we do at DAB. Staff is continually adding new programs to enhance the passenger experience, including complimentary postcards (with postage) for passengers to mail from the concourse; plush k9s in the likeness of our four K9s stationed at DAB, that our deputies give out to promote positive outreach between law enforcement and the traveling public; a TSA mail-back program where passengers have the option of placing a prohibited object (such as a pocket knife or wine key) in a self-addressed and postage-paid envelope; our DAB library offers free digital downloads of books, music, movies and more through a partnership with the Volusia County Library. The airport is a member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program. This voluntary program for airport passengers identifies hidden disabilities by the green sunflower product they choose to wear, such as a lanyard or bracelet. These Sunflower items indicate to airport staff that the passenger may require additional assistance.
We are proud of our long and lasting partnerships with many community businesses. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is a major user of DAB for pilot training. DAB ranks #3 – 5 annually in total operations for the state of Florida (take offs and landings) and much of that is due to flight training programs at ERAU and other schools. These programs are crucial to continuing to add to the pipeline of commercial airline pilots. ERAU is involved with many research and development projects that do or will rely on the airfield and airspace at DAB. Daytona International Speedway manages large scale events throughout the year that draw not only increased commercial air traffic but also hundreds of private aircraft.
All of this adds up to DAB providing an annual $3.2 billion economic impact on the region. This is according to the most recent 2022 FDOT study. With continued support from our residents, businesses and visitors, DAB will continue to grow with our community while continuing to provide first-class customer service from your hometown airport. Happy travels start here!
