DECLUTTERING EXPERT TO TEAM UP WITH GOODWILL AND ENCOURAGE CENTRAL FLORIDIANS TO “KEEP THE MEMORIES, LOSE THE STUFF”
Matt Paxton to Visit Winter Garden and Port Orange Stores on April 8; Donors to Receive Free Book While Supplies Last
On Friday, April 8, decluttering expert Matt Paxton will team up with Goodwill Industries of Central Florida and encourage the community to put his latest book into practice. Attendees who arrive with donations at the Winter Garden store will receive a free copy of “Keep the Memories, Lose the Stuff,” while supplies last – which Paxton will be onsite to sign. A second donation drive and signing event will be held in the afternoon at the Port Orange store; free books will also be distributed while supplies last. Donors who visit any of Goodwill’s other Central Florida Retail Stores or Donation Xpress Centers on Friday will receive a special gift.
Paxton is a downsizing and cleaning expert best known for his role on the popular television shows “Hoarders” and “Legacy List with Matt Paxton.” He was also recently named an ambassador and international spokesperson for Goodwill.
In addition to teaching people how to downsize by organizing their keepsakes, a key part of Paxton’s mission is encouraging those he helps to donate unwanted items. Donations allow Goodwill to provide low-cost goods to the community while also helping people achieve their goals through resources and jobs. Revenue generated through sales of gently used items fund the organization’s employment placement and workforce training services, as well as Goodwill’s vocational rehabilitation program.
