Minto Communities USA has announced that veteran Florida homebuilder and developer Mike Belmont is retiring as president of Minto Communities USA effective April 18, 2025. Belmont will stay involved with Minto part-time for the next two years as an advisor to the CEO, senior management, and board of directors.
Belmont has been with Minto since 2008. He assumed the role of president of U.S. operations in 2010. He and his team led Minto USA in a major expansion from having a primarily Southeast Florida footprint to a significant footprint throughout the state of Florida. The company also has expanded with its Latitude Margaritaville communities to South Carolina. Plans for locations in Texas also are underway.
“Since joining Minto in 2008, Mike steered our U.S. operations through the aftermath of the great financial crisis and spearheaded our expansion from our historical Florida footprint into South Carolina and Texas. As leader of our U.S. operations, Mike built our business with spectacular success,” states Minto Group CEO Michael Waters. “Annual home deliveries and revenues grew from 403 homes and $153 million in 2008 to 2,385 homes and $1.42 billion by the end of 2024. Additionally, Mike has fostered a strong culture of production and customer service excellence, positioning Minto as a national leader in customer satisfaction,” Waters concludes.
Belmont began his career in Florida home building in 1987 as a controller for a joint venture between Ryan Homes and The William Lyon Company at Lake Charleston, a large master-planned-development in Boynton Beach, Florida. He then moved to Centex Homes where he had several leadership positions, including division president of West Florida operations and division president of Houston, Texas operations.
Long-time Minto veteran and Minto’s Latitude Margaritaville Division President William Bullock
will assume the role of Minto Communities USA president following Belmont’s retirement. Bullock joined Minto in 2009, bringing extensive homebuilding experience across various markets.
Bullock led Minto’s partnership with Margaritaville Holdings to develop the award-winning Latitude Margaritaville communities. He launched the first Latitude Margaritaville in Daytona Beach, Florida in 2017, and has played a pivotal role in expanding Latitude Margaritaville communities with Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head in South Carolina and Latitude Margaritaville Watersound in Panama City Beach, Florida. He also is the architect of Latitude Margaritaville’s planned expansion into Texas.
